FAQ’s, BOOKING CONDITIONS and PARK RULES

ALL RESERVATIONS
Your booking is a contract that Alex Beach Cabins and Tourist Park will honour.

The management reserves the right to relocate or change the site number when necessary after booking. Booked cabins and sites will be held for 24 hours from arrival date unless otherwise arranged. The management reserves the right to cancel bookings not paid in full on arrival.

BEACH

The beach is only a short 180 metre walk from the Park.  However, if you wish to swim in the ocean we recommend that you swim in front of the Alex Beach Surf Club in between the red and yellow flags for safety. The Surf Club is a short walk (approx 400 metres) along a scenic lakeside path, past a playground and the Skate Park.

BUNK BEDS

Please be advised under Workplace Health & Safety Regulations we must comply with the Australian Standards AS/NZS 4220:2010. Top bunk bed and other elevated beds MUST NOT be occupied by guests under 9 years of age. Children MUST be supervised by an adult at all times and are not permitted to play on the top bunk. Please ensure you take these conditions into account when booking. Please note, double and queen beds are fully made up, and if more than 2 guests per cabin, to meet hygiene regulations fresh linen packs are issued at Check-in for the single beds as required.

PORTABLE COTS

Porta-cots are available for hire at $AUD10.00 per stay.

CAR PARKING

Each cabin or villa has one free car park space provided beside the accommodation. Only one vehicle per reservation is permitted unless previously arranged.

There is an extra car park opposite Reception should you require extra car parking.

CHANGING MONEY

We are happy to change money for you for the games machines, coffee machine, or the laundry facilities.

Please note this is available only when Reception is attended between 7.30am – 7.00pm. Please do not ring the bell for change after hours.

CHECK IN

Sites are available from 11.00am and all other accommodation is available from 2.00pm on the day of arrival.

Should you need an early check in, please call us on the day of your arrival and we will do our best to meet your request.

There is a $10 refundable key deposit for powered sites and $20 for all other accommodation including powered ensuite sites. This amount can be added to your balance and paid on card. Cash is not required.

On Check-in you will be asked to complete a Registration Card. You may be asked for a current Drivers Licence as identification.

If you will be arriving outside our Reception hours, please contact our reservations team on 07 5443 2356 (or 1800 629 292) to arrange a late arrival and payment.

You will need to call in to Reception the following day to return your Registration Card.

CHECK OUT

All sites and accommodation must be vacated before 10.00am on the day of departure.

Reception is open from 7.30am for you to get your key deposit back in cash. A refund will not be placed on your credit or debit card unless prearranged. Should you wish to leave earlier than 7.30am please arrange your key deposit refund with Reception the afternoon before departure.

We ask that you depart at this time to enable our cleaning team to service the cabin/site ready for the next guest. A Late Check-out for a 2-night or longer booking can be arranged with Reception if the accommodation is not reserved and available. Late Check-out until 12 noon is $25.00 and must be prearranged the afternoon before. Week-end late checkouts are not usually available.

It would be appreciated if accommodation or site could be left in a tidy condition on your departure. Please wash, dry and put away all cutlery and crockery, place soiled linen on the bathroom floor and not on the bedspreads.

Charges may apply if your accommodation is left in an unacceptable state.

CHILDREN

Parents are responsible for their children within the Park at all times and to supervise their behaviour for safety. For safety reasons, bikes, skateboards, roller-blades, scooters and the like are not to be ridden in the Park at any time of the day or night. We adjoin Nelson Park which has a concrete path for riding or walking.

COTS

Portacots are available at Reception for a $10 charge per stay and includes linen.

DEPOSITS

Off-Peak
A deposit of the first night of your stay is required to secure a booking.
Peak
For Christmas bookings an initial deposit of the first night can be paid and the remainder of the deposit of $400 is required before 1st October. For Easter bookings we require a 50% deposit at the time the reservation is made.

DISTURBANCES

Not everyone likes to get out of bed early especially while on holiday so please be mindful of your neighbours.

We have a no noise policy after 9.30pm. Visitors are to have left the Park by 9.30pm or charges may apply. A guest is responsible for his or her visitor/s at all times.

Please turn off outside lights before retiring.

Mobile Phone Etiquette – please be mindful to ensure that your mobile phone conversations do not disturb others.

Our onsite Manager is available 24 hours per day on Tel 07 5479 2730.

We have a security company who patrol the park several times during the night who monitor the Park’s policy.

EMERGENCY

If there is an EXTREME EMERGENCY please call 000 and ask for police, fire or ambulance service.

Please call the Manager on 07 5479 2730 to report incidents to enable emergency service access into the Park.

FIRES

Open fires are not permitted, due to the large quantity of gas bottles we have around our Park.

GAMES ROOM

The Games Room is open from 7.30am – 8.30pm daily.

GARBAGE

Please wrap your rubbish and place it in the bin closest to your cabin or site. Not all cabins or sites are allocated their own bin. Garbage is collected daily after 10.30am.

HOUSEKEEPING FEE

As we are not a hotel or resort – all of our accommodation is serviced on departure only. A housekeeping fee will apply if accommodation is left in an unacceptable state. Smoking is prohibited inside all our accommodation. If our cleaning Staff has to remove rubbish, wash dishes or generally clean up an unacceptable amount of mess, an account for additional cleaning of $35.00 per hour will be charged to your credit card.

LAWN MOWING

Monday is lawn mowing day in the Park. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but it is a task that must be undertaken. Please move your car/belongings off the grass when the lawn is being mowed near your cabin or site. At times, the mowing day may vary due to unforeseen circumstances like the weather.

LAUNDRY

The laundry has both front loaders and top loaders. Four dryers are also available for use. Clothes lines are located at the rear of the amenity block.

LONGER STAYS

Guests staying longer than 8 nights in a cabin/villa will have fresh linen supplied free of charge on a weekly basis.

LINEN

In all our accommodation the main bed is made up and we supply linen packs for the single beds at Check-in, at no extra charge. For health reasons this is a MANDATORY requirement. The single beds can be made using the linen provided.  We can make up these beds for an additional fee if we are given notice prior to arrival.
Should the above not be adhered to, an extra cleaning fee of a minimum of $35.00 per hour will be charged on departure for the extra cleaning of mattress protectors, mattress and pillows, etc.
It is important to us that we present a high standard of cleanliness for all our valued guests, and would appreciate the return of the bag the linen came in.

MOTORISTS

For the safety of children and walkers a strict Walking Pace speed limit must be adhered to at all times on all roads please. Thank you for your patience and consideration.

PAYMENTS

Deposits
A Deposit equal to the first nights accommodation is payable when making a reservation. Peak season deposits are $400.00 on cabins and villa accommodation and $150.00 on sites.
(Long-stay bookings require a week’s deposit.)

Deposits can be paid using your credit card, by giving details over the telephone. We also offer a bank transfer facility. We do not accept Amex or Diners Club credit cards.

Money orders and personal cheques will only be accepted if received at least 14 days prior to arrival. Please ensure to record your full name, address and reservation number on the back of the cheque/money order, to allow correct processing of your deposit.

Balance
A refundable key deposit and the balance of your tariff is payable in full on arrival. We accept Cash, EFTPOS, Mastercard or Visa. Sorry, personal cheques or AMEX are NOT acceptable for balance payments.

Price Increase

We reserve the right to change our prices without notice. Modest annual tariff increases occur 1st July each year.

PETS

Sorry – we currently have a No Pets policy.

ONLINE BOOKINGS

Online reservations are to be paid in full at the time of booking. When making an online reservation at Alex Beach Cabins and Tourist Park your credit card details will not be accessed by the park. These payments are handled by an online secure payment gateway.

Please note that refunds/changes will not be issued for reservations made via tour operators, travel agents and other third parties for any reason. While many of our sites can facilitate a large caravan, some are small sites. It is important that you advise us of the size of your caravan when booking.

OPENING TIMES

Our Reception is open from 7.30am until 7.00pm daily. The heated pool, children’s playground and Games Room, pool table, and coffee machine are open 7.30am – 8.30pm.

The Laundry is not locked at night. However, we ask that all washing and drying be completed by 8.30pm at the latest so as not to disturb guests located near the laundry.

SMOKING

Our accommodation is strictly non-smoking. However, if you choose to smoke, please do this outside on the verandah with your accommodation door closed. Ash trays are provided for the correct disposal of butts. If this is not adhered to please refer to the Housekeeping Fee which may be charged.

SECURITY

Unfortunately not everyone is honest so you will need to be responsible for your possessions by keeping valuables out of sight and your cabin, car and bikes locked.  Please do not leave beach towels or clothes out overnight.

SERVICE

Your accommodation is serviced on departure only, should you wish to have further service a charge of $35.00 will be applied.

Ensuites on Ensuite Powered Sites will be serviced once a week.

SPECIAL REQUESTS

If you have requested or been advised of a specific site, cabin or villa every effort will be made to accommodate your needs. All requests are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

Should you need anything during your stay or have Reception book local attractions, our Staff would be more than happy to assist you.

SWIMMING POOL

The heated pool is open between 7.30am – 8.30pm.  Swimwear must be worn by all guests.  Children MUST be supervised by an adult at all times.  Children who are not toilet trained MUST wear a swimwear diaper and swimwear for hygiene reasons. Inflatable toys, body boards or the like are not to be used in the pool area.  When opening the pool gate let only YOUR children into the pool area.  For safety reasons, glass of any kind is prohibited in the pool area.

TOP PARKS/G’DAY MEMBERSHIPS

Memberships can be purchased from Reception.  Standard Membership is $50.00 and valid for two years, you will receive 10% discount at any Top Park up to a maximum of $50.00 per stay.

Membership Card must be presented at Check-in to receive your discount.

We also offer a Book Ahead service to the next Top Parks Park for all Top Parks Members.

UTENSILS

In our accommodation we have a range of cooking utensils, however if you require additional cooking utensils or pots, etc, please do not hesitate to ask at Reception.

GUESTS’ VISITORS

Visitors are welcome from 9.00am. All persons not booked in and paid for must vacate the park by 9.30pm with the minimum of noise.

Visitors cars are not permitted past the boom gate at any time. We have a Visitors’ Carpark located across from Reception. Please remember you are responsible for your visitors at all times.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

A complimentary kit is supplied to all accommodation – this includes dishwashing liquid, scourer, Chux dishcloth, tea towel, bin liner and toilet rolls.
